Christmas in July - Day 24

I'm so excited to have finally pieced together this cute Christmas Wreath quilt. This is a free pattern at Moda Bake Shop, it was posted in May 2010. When I saw it, I immediately wanted to make it. I got my charms with the same fabric the designer, The Calico Horse used which is Makin' New Friends. I cut out all of my 2" squares and I even pieced together the bow, that's as far as I got and I never finished it. I put all of my squares of fabric and pattern in a plastic bag and tucked it away in my box of Christmas fabric. Go here for the pattern.

I decided this is the year I'm going to get this quilt finished so Sunday afternoon I arranged all of my squares of fabric on the "design floor" in my sewing room as I do not have a design wall, no room for one but that's fine. I did have to shut the door to my sewing room today while I went to work because a certain little dog likes to nap in my room while I'm at work.

Anyway, after I got home from work and after dinner I started sewing my squares together, lots of squares. It didn't take that long really. Here's a cute picture of Buster and Betty helping out with the photo taking.

Michelle at L7 Quilt Co. made this Christmas Wreath wall hanging back in 2010 shortly after it came out, hers is also very cute. She also used the Makin' New Friends fabric. Go here to see Michelle's quilt.

Thanks again for visiting my blog everyday to see what I'm making for Christmas in July.

Isn't it amazing what we start and don't finish immediately. Finding it is like getting a new present. Finishing it is like hitting the jackpot. congrats on finding and finishing such a beauty.

That is soooo cute, Carol! It turned out really well...maybe you should keep that one for yourself! :o) I also bookmarked that pattern and have it saved in my "file" of things I want to do someday. I sure hope I have enough "somedays" left to get them all made!

And as usual, Buster and Betty are too cute!

XOXO,

Cyndi

What a great quilt, and so easy to put together. I'm sure the hardest part must have been choosing the right fabrics for the layout. My little Rusty like to get right on a project when I put things on the bed in my sewing room. Can have the whole bed but will lie down on the project. They are just giving it so me love.

You must be really happy to have that one finally done. It's a adorable, why do we leave things sometimes. It happens to me all the time.

Carol, this piece is very cute, and your projects are, as always, so inspirational! I love your "Christmas in July" efforts - you've really kept me motivated to get some gifts put together early (although I'm nowhere close to one a day!). Congratulations!
