A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That & Oh Yeah, I'm Back

Hello again, nice to be back to blogging after a week-long break. You probably thought I didn't do any sewing while I was away. No way! Sewing is who I am, it's my thing. What have I been sewing? I will show you soon, I've been making some Halloween and Fall quilts. My husband thinks it's just weird that I did Christmas quilts before Fall quilts. This is my plan Stan, I will have a week of showing my Fall & Halloween sewing items next week starting on Sunday the 26th so I hope you will come back to see. I did this theme different because I'm finishing my items instead of showing unfinished items as I did in July.

Ok, first of all what's been going on is my husband surprised me with a new dresser a week ago. He was out and about going to his L A Fitness etc. when he noticed a going out of business up to 75% off furniture store. He went in to take a look and found us this Mission Style dresser. He haggled with them and ended up with a good deal. He managed to get it in the house with a hand truck thing and got it all set up in the bedroom before I got home from work. Notice in the mirror our Mission Style headboard on the bed that hubby made. Love this dresser and it fits perfectly in that space by the wall.

Remember the Christmas in July things I made? This is the stack of table toppers that need to be quilted. Evidently I forgot to wipe off the chalk lines on that tote bag, the camera totally picks up every little thing.

Here's some of the quilts I made in July all quilted and ready for binding. If you look at the Hometown table runner you will see the wonderful Sunflowers design. The wreath is quilted with Jingle Bells, cute. The quilting was done by quilter extraordinaire Mary of Quilt Hollow.

Today I made a bunch of bindings. I have several little quilts to do the binding on. Should keep me busy for a while.

Do you remember the Origins Table Runner that I made in July? I was going to give it to my SIL but decided to give her the Hometown one instead. So I'm giving the Origins table runner to a friend at work who is having a birthday next week. This is the cute box that I got at Joann's to put the table runner in.

And here is the inside. I rolled up the table runner and tied with a ribbon. I added a label and wrote: "For Beverly From Carol Happy Birthday. This table runner is for your table not for your closet". The reason I wrote that is she is so funny about thinking something like the table runner will get messed up so she doesn't use it and puts it in a plastic bag in the closet for safe keeping.

Look at what little Buster did yesterday. He came in the house all wet from taking a dip in the pool. I got a towel to dry him off and noticed his toe was bleeding. He evidently caught it on something and about ripped off the whole toenail. Buster and Betty love to fight, they really do, but when Betty realized Buster was hurt she was all in our faces while I was trying to clean his foot to see if he was ok.

Thanks for visiting. I'll be posting again regularly. I've missed you guys.

Ouch Buster! It looks like that hurts! Copper says get well soon :-) I love how you are presenting the birthday runner. That box is amazing! I'm looking forward to your fall projects. I understand Christmas before fall! I make what ever holiday themed quilt I feel like no matter what the season :-) LOL!! Valentine's at Easter? No problem! I think yours makes more sence than that though!

I like your logic of the quilting order! You won't feel pressured to get Christmas done now and can relax. Everything else you make is gravy! How's Buster today? Oh...your husband had a good eye on your new piece. Like it! I've been cleaning all day. Tomorrow got to get back to work! I'd rather have played today btw.

Love the dresser! I can't imagin my dh ever doing something like that. Glad you're all rested up and ready to go again. Although it doesn't sound like you rested at all.

Poor Buster! I remember when my pup did that.....except he ripped the whole nail off! He acted like nothing was wrong and I only noticed it because there were little dots of blood wherever he went. I hope Buster heals quickly!

Your husband is wonderful! What a fantastic find and even more wonderful was him getting it into the bedroom as a surprise for you! That box from Joann's is a great idea for packaging! I will have to remember that.
