This & That

If you stopped by my blog today to visit, thank you! For some unknown reason blogger isn't updating my blog in the sidebar list on friend's blogs, therefore you wouldn't know that I've added a new post. I tried to figure out why and even asked blog guru Karen of Sew Many Ways. I like Karen's advise to just tell you guys to come by and check on me from time to time and blogger will probably fix itself someday, so that's what I'll do. I did end up deleting a few posts thinking that was the problem so if you came by and didn't see a certain post that is why.

So what have I been up to? Took down Christmas decorations on Saturday and cleaned my sewing room closet which was in bad need of that. We took lots of things to Good Will and happy to have things gone.

One thing I deleted was my post about a Tea Party I went to while I was in Colorado visiting my family for Christmas. Three of my sisters and I had a lovely old fashioned tea party at a historical house in Longmont CO called Thompson House Inn. I made a card of our tea party to give to each of my sisters, one for all of us that attended and one for the sister who couldn't make it. I also made one for both of my brothers because I know they will like it.

This is the front of the card.

This is the inside. I like the pictures with us drinking from a tea cup.

When I cleaned out my sewing room closet, I found some treasures that I totally forgot about.

This is about 1/2 yard of a very cute fabric by Sandy Gervais called Celebrate Spring.

Also found this cute Moda Scrap Bag with a Jelly Roll inside. Can't recall the name of the fabric but I'm sure I could figure it out eventually.

And, I found this quilt kit with Sanctuary fabric.

Lastly, some honeybun strips of Valentine fabric. This little bit of the word of the fabric was enough for me to remember the name, Sent With Love. I think I will piece together some strips for a super easy cute Valentine table runner.

Got this magazine at the Joann's today. Getting a new quilt magazine just makes your day happier. Haven't really looked at it yet, good thing to relax with later.

Have you ever used an OTT Lite? I haven't but thought it would be great for the sewing room. I bought a lightbulb today with a 50% off coupon. Put it in my lamp by my quilting frame and turned it on. Nice! I like that light much better than a standard light bulb. It's supposed to be a truer light like sunlight. That's my meandering quilting such as it is. I haven't done any free motion quilting in so long I was hoping I still remembered how.

I'm crossing my fingers that this post updates on your blog list. Thanks for stopping by.

You showed up on my blog list - woohoo!!!!

A very newsy post, Carol.

It's amazing what we find when we take time to shop our closets and drawers. The fabric in the brown bag is Cherry O (?) by Me and My Sister Designs.

You showed up on my blog list. I don't remember the last post that I read, though. I may have missed some. I love my ott lights and can't function without them any more! You sure found some real treasures. I'll be on the lookout for what you may make with them.

I got notification of this blog but I know I didn't get notified about the placemats.
I was having problems with blogger over the last month. Sunday it wouldn't let me upload pictures. After several attempts and lots of searching I read that I should change my browser from Internet explorer to Google Chrome. I tried it and all of my issues disappeared immediately. Don't know if this will help you or not but I thought I'd share.

You came up on my list. Love that card with the pictures of you and your sisters. Nice find, all that quilting goodness. I love Celebrate Spring. I have a string pieced quilt (well the blocks anyway), all done, just need to be pieced!!! Glad your computer woes are better.

Oh Cherry Oh! is in the scrap bag. One of my favorite lines. LOVE the tea party with the card to save the memory. How fun! You found some treasures while cleaning. I need to do the same. I was thinking of thinning out my patterns. I have WAY too many and there is no way I'm going to make them all. I may just have to do a giveaway.

Oh. And I have a big OTT light (Christmas gift a few years ago). LOVE it.

Yep, it updated Carol. Yippee!

I just cleaned up my sewing room yesterday as well. What a feeling of liberation, huh?

The picture of you and your sisters is a keeper for sure. You all look so ELEGANT, sitting there sipping your tea.
